Built-in Safety

Safety Infrastructure

CCTV Surveillance

AI-enabled PTZ cameras cover concourses, platforms, and tunnel approaches with round-the-clock monitoring from the Operations Control Centre.

Fire Detection & Suppression

Automatic alarms, wet fire mains, inert-gas suppression in electrical rooms, and portable extinguishers are available across stations and tunnels.

Emergency Lighting

Battery-backed emergency lighting activates automatically across platforms, concourses, tunnels, and evacuation walkways within seconds of power loss.

Tunnel Ventilation (TVS)

The Tunnel Ventilation System controls airflow during emergencies to push smoke away from evacuation routes.

CISF Security Cover

CISF personnel at all stations provide security screening, patrolling, and emergency-response support throughout the day.

Public Address System

The station-wide PA system connects to OCC for real-time emergency announcements in Hindi and English.

Preparedness

Regular Mock Drills

UPMRC conducts periodic emergency mock drills in coordination with CISF, Agra Police, UP Fire Services, and NDRF. These drills simulate fire, tunnel evacuation, derailment, and security-threat scenarios.

Drills are usually conducted during non-revenue hours to avoid passenger inconvenience, and each completed drill is reported to the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety.
